Nimsoft Press ReleaseAmway Turns to Nimsoft to support pan-European e-business portal deploymentNimBUS will be deployed across a distributed environment in 27 European countries London, UK - April 22, 2008 – Nimsoft, the “Big 4” alternative for IT performance and availability monitoring solutions, announced today that Amway has successfully deployed its NimBUS platform to support the next phase of a new pan-European e-business portal. Designed to support over 500,000 direct sales consultants, the portal, known as www.amway.de, will streamline the way customer orders and queries are processed. Amway’s decision to select Nimsoft follows extensive trials to identify a monitoring platform that was scalable and able to support a more service-orientated approach. The infrastructure supporting the portal will eventually consist of over 300 servers, networks and other components located in 70 sites across 27 European countries. With over five different IT monitoring tools in use, Amway undertook a consolidation exercise in late 2006 to standardise on a single monitoring platform. The review set tough targets, with the emphasis on IT service visibility and the ability to capture and analyse a wide range of data across remote locations. NimBUS was the only monitoring platform that proved capable of comfortably scaling to support hundreds of servers and offered the flexibility and robustness needed to deliver against a growing number of service level agreements. “www.amway.de is a key initiative designed to support our business initiatives across Europe. The portal will allow our consultants to access a wealth of information quickly and easily and place orders securely. The key to the portal’s success lies in its accessibility and availability at all times. This places a huge demand on the backend databases, middleware and servers that underpin the portal. It is not enough to know whether an IT system is up or down. We have to be able to act on information before it becomes a major problem. NimBUS provides us with the ability to proactively manage our environment, take a holistic view across our entire IT infrastructure and critically adopt a more service-orientated approach in the way the department interacts with the rest of Amway in Europe. The ease with which we have been able to deploy NimBUS has helped our efforts in rolling out the www.amway.de portal,” said Michael Schmidt, Supervisor ServiceDesk-Europe, Amway GmbH. “Amway’s business success is based on its ability to respond rapidly to the needs of its business consultants and customers. The Amway Online initiative reflects the importance that the company attaches to technology and its contribution to its business growth. It should come as no surprise then that the company consolidated its IT monitoring platform on NimBUS, which has helped it to reap the true value of its technology investment,” said Gary Read, president and CEO, Nimsoft.
